In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

With Pakipop.com, my dream of producing a Web site finally becomes a reality. Thank you God for making it happen! Believe me, it was not an easy task. In the course of producing this Web site, I have gone through a lot of mental and physical stress but your faith in my work and my faith in God pulled me through. I bow my head in all humility and gratitude to Almighty Allah for His countless blessings.

I remember it was summer of '95 when I was introduced to the world of the World Wide Web. During that time, I used to extensively surf the Internet, viewing different Web sites and numerous Web pages on a variety of topics. Still, I felt as if something was missing. Something about Pakistan, something about music, something different. Thus, I decided to make an effort and come up with something new and unique. This Web site, therefore, is a humble effort on my part to cover the pop music scene in Pakistan.

Pakistani pop music is like a Havana cigar to me; rich, heavy, smooth, and full of passion-fire! While you may find it has filled up your senses, at the same time it leaves you craving for more. This music has taken me on its flights of fantasy on many occasions and I would like you to give it a try and experience it for yourself.

Those who have been involved with Pakipop.com (formerly TUNES - The Pakistani Pop Music Web Site) from its inception - namely our regular visitors and contributors - know very well that this Web site was brought forth to act as a bridge between the music makers and the music lovers who felt the need for a platform in the absence of any such. Since the Web site was launched on an experimental basis, I had no idea what direction it will take in the long run. Much to my surprise, it grew, with time, into a Web site with its own form and identity and a fan following surpassing my expectations. Suddenly I was receiving notes of appreciation from people all around the world. Indubitably, that was much to my delight but not without the element of apprehension. Not only was Pakipop.com catering to an unquenchable thirst for music information but was, unknowingly, assuming the role of an authority as well.

My sincere thanks to all of you in this regard who wrote to me conveying sweet and kind words of appreciation, which shall be my motivation for times to come. It makes me proud to say that all this success and recognition would not have been possible without your love and support. I will continue to expand the Web site with new and up-to-date information and hope to fulfill your expectations and mine. So, here's to a lasting relationship - you, me, and the tunes of Paki Pop!
